On May 20, 2024, KITTNER ANLAGEN- UND MASCHINENBAU EOOD signed Contract No. BG-RRP-3.008-0734-C01 for grant funding under the project “Support for the Transition to a Circular Economy”, within the framework of the project selection procedure BG-RRP-3.008 “Support for the Transition to a Circular Economy in Enterprises” under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan.

The main objective of the project is to accelerate the transition to a circular economy by implementing circular models in Area 1) Reducing waste generation in the manufacturing activities of KITTNER in the sector of special-purpose machinery production.

The goals will be achieved by the company investing in new resource-efficient technologies, namely: one manual laser welding system and one blasting system.

As a result, the following outcomes are expected:

  • A 50% reduction per unit of production in the amount of metal waste generated from poorly welded and deformed components during the manufacturing of industrial washing machines and lifting and tilting machines.

  • A 90% annual reduction in scrap metal waste by preparing it for reuse as raw material in subsequent production processes.

  • An increase in the company’s production capacity and an overall average annual reduction of 8% in total production waste.

By implementing the new technologies, KITTNER will transform its manufacturing processes by transitioning to a circular model in the area of waste reduction, aiming to increase resource efficiency and limit greenhouse gas emissions.

Start date: May 20, 2024
End date: November 20, 2025

Total project value: BGN 249,949.21, of which BGN 124,974.60 is grant funding.
